Melting Moments (Mouth watering cookie recipe)

There has been a lot of requests for Amma's cookies and cake recipes. Here is a tried and tested cookie recipe that has always been taught to her students. She is glad to share it with everyone now. If you wish learn from the expert herself, then please stay tuned to her page


225 gm butter, 170 gm sugar, 1 tsp vanilla essence, 280 gm flour, ½ tsp baking powder, 1 egg or 3 tbsp water, 1½ cups crushed corn flakes or coarse bread crumbs.


Cream butter & sugar till light. Add beaten egg or water little at a time & beat well. Add essence & mix thoroughly. Work in flour sieved with baking powder to smooth dough. Place the dough in a flat bowl & cover with foil or cling wrap. Refrigerate for 15 minutes. Wet the hands & divide into small portions. Roll in crumbs & place on baking sheets. Bake in a moderate oven at 180°c for 15-20 minutes or until done.
