Baked Macaroni - Indian Style

Are you always running out of ideas to cook up an interesting meal for Dinner? Are you confused about the preparation methods with Macaroni or any pasta? or to entertain your guests?

Here is an interesting recipe incorporated to suit the Indian taste buds.

Presenting the Baked Macaroni - Truly Indian.

Baked Macaroni
Ingredients:

200 gm macaroni or any other pasta

200 gm tomatoes

2 tbsp oil

1 large onion chopped

2 tsp minced green chilly

3 tbsp chopped capsicum

Oregano or Basil to season

Salt & Pepper to taste

Ingredients for the White Sauce:

1 cup milk

1 ½ tbsp flour

2 ½ tbsp butter

100 gm grated cheese

Salt & Pepper to taste

Method:

1. Boil 2 litres of water with 20 gm salt. Cook pasta for 10 -12 minutes.

2. Strain in a colander & hold under running tap. Mix a tsp of oil to prevent from sticking.

3. Heat butter in a pan & add flour & stir for ½ minute. Warm the milk & add all at once. Stir well till sauce is thick. Add seasoning. Cool & mix in grated cheese.

4. Heat oil in a pan & add onions, chilies & capsicum. Fry till dry & add chopped tomatoes & seasoning. Cook till it reaches a saucy consistency & remove.

5. Mix pasta with the tomato mixture. Place ½ of the white sauce in a greased baking dish & spread the pasta over it. Then pour remaining white sauce.

6. Bake in a moderate oven till the top is light brown.
